«Pilk 2024» – the best works of the festival participants
The twelfth International Photo Festival of Youth Creativity «Pilk 2024» was held at the Narva House of Children’s Creativity on April 25–26.
The festival is one of the few events in our region that supports young photographers who are passionate about this visual art form.
Our festival is like a lesson where photographers learn not only how to press the shutter button, but also how to convey their feelings through their images. In addition, the students of «Positiiv» photography studio take a great responsibility and choose one hundred best works from all the photos sent to «Pilk 2024» for the contest collection.
Traditionally, two master classes are held at the festival.
On Friday, April 19, a well-known professional photographer from Narva, Irina Kivimäe, spoke to the participants. Her very informative lesson «Alternative Photography» broadened the participants' horizons about the possibilities of creating photographs.
The second day of the festival is always more eventful than the first.
A master class on «Artificial Intelligence» was held by Jekaterina Averko, a painter and teacher of the «Drawing and Painting» circle, who spoke about the possibilities of artificial intelligence in creative directions.
The twelfth festival was attended by photo studios from two countries - Lithuania (Kadras photo studio, teacher Tatiana Kuzmina), and Estonia (multimedia studio "Poisk", photo club F-8, teacher Dmitry Vorobiev and photo studio «Positiiv», teacher Zoja Hussainova).
The works for the competitive part of the festival were sent by 46 authors.
A total of 214 works were received in the nominations:
- «Architecture» – 82 works;
- «Cinematographic Portrait» – 69 works;
- «Playing with Light» – 63 works.
After the first student jury, 100 works were selected for the competition exhibition. The adult jury during the festival work, i.e. April 19-20 selected 18 main winners.
