Regulations on the International Photo Festival «View  2024»

 

Narva House of Children's Creativity (Narva Hobby School) invites creative young people to take part in the XII international photo festival «View - 2024». Our festival has become a good tradition, where young photographers freely share their impressions of the world around us. The art of photography plays a significant role in their reflections, evaluation and analysis of life. Photography helps to take a closer look at the movement going on around us, to be more attentive to our loved ones and more observant of the changes in the nature around us.

The aim of the festival is to promote the popularization of photography as a means of artistic expression, to attract young amateur photographers to exchange ideas, to give children the opportunity to express their thoughts and their view of the world through photography. The festival is intended to promote friendship between young amateur photographers of our region and other countries.

 

Amateur photographers from 13 to 26 years old are invited to participate.

 

Festival organizers: Narva Hobby School with the support of Narva Culture Department, Narva Youth Centre and MTÜ Autori foto.

The festival will be held on April 19-20, 2024 at Narva Hobby School and includes two programs: the creative part, which includes master classes of professional photographers, excursion to the territory of the former Krenholm manufactory, and the competition part, which includes the work of the jury, awarding of the winners and analysis of the works of the festival participants.

 

 

Photographs for the competition are accepted in three categories:

• Architecture;
• Cinematographic portrait;
• Play with light.

 

Photos for the contest are accepted in file form. The file size should be no less than 3000 and no more than 5000 pixels on the long side with a resolution of 300 dpi. A participant can send up to three files in each category. The total number of photos per participant can be up to 9. It is not necessary to participate in all nominations. Series are not considered.

 

 

Photos are evaluated in two age categories:

• 13 to 17 years old
• 18 to 26 years old

 

Photos should be sent: by filling in the form-  Kandideeri , which is at the end of the document or  should be emailed to photo.konkurs@nll.ee labeled «View 2024». Each file must contain: first and last name of the author. The size of the e-mail attachment should not exceed 25 mb. The email should include: first and last name (as in a passport), age, address, student, student or working, phone number. List of attached files with the nomination, title of the photos. Without these data photos will not be considered. Festival participants may not use photos of another author or borrowed from the Internet.

 

 

Festival Works and Schedule

The works submitted to the festival must meet the following requirements: the photos must be of good quality, must not carry negative content, images must not contain the date, time of shooting and author's patches.

The last day for receiving works by e-mail is April 3, 2024. Works submitted on April 4 will not be considered.

The acceptance committee, consisting of students of the photo studio «Positiiv» headed by the head of the photo studio Zoya Hussainova, selects the photos for the competition and accordingly for the competition exhibition according to the listed requirements.

In total, one hundred (100) works will be selected for the contest exhibition. Competition photos are printed at the expense of the organizers of the competition in A-3 size. The selected best works participate in the main competition on April 20, 2024.

The jury evaluates the photos according to the following criteria: artistic and technical level of performance (composition, color, light, use of technical capabilities of the camera). Originality, dynamism and emotionality of the photo.

In each nomination in two age groups the winners - first, second, third places are established. Festival organizers have the right to establish special prizes.

The jury works on April 20 during the first part of the festival, when the participants are on an excursion.

• 13:45 — 15:30 Visit of participants (only for guests) to the Alexander Cathedral
• 12:30 — 15:00 Jury work
• 15:30 — 16:00 Coffee break
• 16:00 — 16:30 Awarding
• 16:30 — 17:00 Analysis of works
• 17:00 Group photo

The members of the jury can be changed by the organizers of the festival.

The works participating in the main competition remain in the festival archive. The winning works and works awarded with prizes of other organizations continue to be exhibited in different exhibition spaces of Narva and other Estonian cities.
